Essex’s newest squash academy has hit the ground running in its first official week of operation with a ‘mind-blowing’ amount of players attending and signing up for the exciting Off The Wall Squash centre at The Garrison in Colchester.
Over a hundred players were in action on the six pristine courts at the Corporal Budd Gymnasium following the launch on September 1st now the focus is on the official Grand Opening on Sunday September 21st when the doors are being thrown open to everyone to enjoy an amazing day’s squash action.
Off the Wall Squash are staging a family fun tournament where players of all standard can get on court, and that will be followed by an exhibition match between two of the world’s best players, Essex’s own Daryl Selby (left) against big-hitting left-hander, Adrian Waller. And there’ll be a doubles exhibition match to keep the excitement rolling.
Players will be put into teams and they’ll take on opponents of their own ability. So no worries about getting paired with any hot-shots. If you haven’t been on court for years, don’t worry. As long as you can serve and move, there’s a place for you.
So, kids, get you parents off their behinds and back on court. Of course, there’ll be plenty of stiff competitive stuff for the more competitive among us. The action starts at on Sunday Sept 21st 9.30am until 1pm. Then it’s the doubles and and men’s exhibition at 1.30pm until 2.30pm.
It’ll cost you a fiver to play with all profits going to the Army Benevolent Fund, the Off the Wall Squash designated charity You can enter by emailing admin@offthewallsquash.co.uk or call 01206 736924.
