Essex’s Daryl Selby and Middlesex’s Alison Waters triumphed in theBSPA Grand Prix Finals at the Roehampton Club in London on Friday night.
Both top seeds won their deciders in straight games, Selby routing second-seeded South African Shaun le Roux 11-4, 11-8, 11-8 in 26 minutes to retain the men’s title and Waters defeating Derbyshire’s Millie Tomlinson 11-9, 11-6, 11-8 in 39.
Waters had beaten Kent’s Georgina Kennedy 3/0 in the first round, but Selby had to win two matches to reach the final, overpowering Hampshire’s Kyle Finch 3/0 in the first round and Gloucestershire’s Robbie Temple 3/1 in the semis.
