Highest WR?
Did you ever play in the Essex Junior Closed and if so, what was your best result?Yes, 1st Place
Did you ever play in any inter county teams, if so, what was your best memory?Yes I played Inter counties almost every year, my favourite memory is from U11 when I went to the Inter- County festival with my 2 squash besties and we were cheering for each other as loud as possible, with one of us on court and playing and 2 of us sitting on tiny chairs screaming.
Who is your favourite player to play?I’m not sure, I can’t choose!
Who is your nemesis? Everyone but my greatest nemesis is myself, I am yet to win the constant battle I am in with myself on court as well as off court.
What skill would you want from someone else?I would want the skill of speed from someone like my brother who can run at 100mph, having that kind of speed would change my game completely.
Favourite pre match scran (food)?Nothing! I never been able to eat before games since I started competing or I’ll feel sick for the whole match.
Top tip for future playersIt is good to know what your weaknesses are and what you need to work on, but also remember to be aware of and appreciate your strengths so you can use it with confidence.
What skill are you working on most this year?My explosiveness towards the ball and movement.
How do you prepare for a match? In the long term I train more regularly with a bit more of a focus on my weaknesses, in the short term right before the match I put on a playlist I made with songs that have a strong bass or fast beat while I warm up as they are the best at getting me focused and into a competitive mindset.
Who coaches you now?Dave Webster & Gareth Naidoo
When you are not playing squash, what do you like to do?Sometimes I like to do crafty things like make jewellery, but most of the time if I’m not studying I love watching a good movie or show. (Or sleep!)
If you didn’t play squash, what other sport do you think you may have taken up?I think I would have taken up either dance, taekwondo or ice skating. I used to do ballet but always had a love for hip hop and jazz funk, and I started figure skating a couple of years ago and love it. I always wanted to do a martial art so maybe I would’ve done taekwondo like my mum.
