Some of our Essex Junior Closed winners were handed their beautiful, new, engraved trophies at the weekend. All of our county winners already have their individual trophies but they will also will retain the perpetual Cups until next season’s event.
The new trophies have been engraved with the names of previous winners and come courtesy of a number of sponsors, including our main backers, Miles Smith Insurance of London.
All of the Essex Closed winners will receive their new cups, alongside Grace Woodhead, Isabella Johns, Renitha Srindran and Olivia Broderick who were presented with theirs by Essex girls’ coach Chris Chitty at our final county training session at Lexden on Sunday.
They received a great ovation from their fellow county players, including the two groups pictured below. Unfortunately, there is no photograph of our elite group as the photographer was dazzled by their beauty and racket squash skills, and clean forgot. Sorry, gals. (LH)
