SILVERWARE from last weekend’s outstanding Essex Junior Open held at the Colchester Garrison was spread far and wide with no less than EIGHT different counties putting their name on the honours’ board.
As hosts, Essex bagged the majority of the trophies with 11 of the 26 gongs up for grabs remaining on home soil. But the strength of the field was testimony to the popularity of the event which ran incredibly smoothly thanks to our brilliant volunteer committee spearheaded by EJS secretary David Harris and Chairman Matthew White. Special thanks to David’s wife Emma who was also ‘volunteered’ for the entire weekend.
The two-day event saw over 250 matches on court featuring an entry of more than 120 players. It was also our second Open event under the banner of sponsors Miles Smith Insurance who have continued to back our junior country programme in 2018.
All match scores will be posted shortly once they have been validated and sent to England Squash. In the meantime, here is the list of all our trophy winners.
