Coach Jake Byrne criss-crossing Essex and Herts with Limitless enthusiasm

by | Feb 14, 2018

MEET THE COACH: It’s fair to say that Jake Byrne is one of the busiest squash coaches around. One look at his weekly diary will see him booked in for coaching sessions at two private schools, Brentwood and Haileybury in Hertford; Bishops Stortford Squash Club, Saffron Walden SC and the Off The Wall Squash Academy schools programme in Colchester.
Add Jake’s work with the Essex Junior Squash Inter-County teams to that list and you get some idea how in demand the England Level 3 coach is.
Jake explained:” I began to coach at Bishops Stortford at the end of 2014 after completing my Sport Development and Coaching Bsc in Sheffield. I then took over coaching at Saffron Walden on Saturdays at the end of 2015 and that has really gone from strength to strength. We started with 7 kids and now have 25 playing regularly.”
Earlier this year Jake launched his own Limitless Squash Academy bringing in other coaches and ideas as he grows the game. Check out their Facebook page or if you would like to contact Jake directly, email him at byrnejake14@yahoo.co.uk.
Jake added:” We are rolling out more and more programmes for players of all levels so things are pretty exciting right now. We recently had 15 of our junior players competing in the Essex Junior Squash Grand Prix series which was terrific. 2018 promises to be a hectic year, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
