Essex players bagged three first-placed finishes at the final round of Mega-Series matches held at the Hunts County Squash Club in Cambridgeshire.
Charlie Martin (pictured right), Joel Braddock and Jusuf Sheikh delivered impressive displays as they topped the winners’ rostrum in the Under-15, Under-13 and Under-11 events respectively.
All three flourished throughout the Mega Series, alongside a host of other Essex players (sorry not to name them here but several requests for information from organisers have fallen on deaf ears).
Jusuf’s performance at Hunts was all the more impressive as he played only hours after stepping off an 8-hour flight. In his quarter final he could barely walk, let alone play squash. Yet he battled thorough to the final when he simply refused to lose to Nero Harms. He is looking like a real prospect.
His sister Aliza also defied the jet-lag to carry ofF the U-11 Plate trophy.
