Lexden’s Tim Bacon overcame fellow Essex player Ollie Green to land the Berkhamsted BEST series one-day bronze event last week.
In a highly competitive Under-13 event, 32 players competed in the best-of-three format showcasing many of the region’s age-group elite. Tim and Ollie (pictured above) looked strong in the early rounds and deserved their places in the final which Tim edged 2-1.
Billericay’s Alice Green, brother of Ollie, set herself a stiff challenge by entering the Under-19 event despite being only 13 years of age. And she claimed a massive scalp by beating Grave Gear, the current English Tecnifibre Under-15 Champion from Hertfordshire, before finishing runner up to Casey Bartley.
Essex’s Joe Blackmur finished Under-17 Plate winner while Amy Aspinall took runner-up spot in the Girls’ Under-13’s losing to Chloe Spratt from Herts.
