Essex junior George Woodhead has capped an amazing year of sport by winning the Mersea School Squash Achievement Award for 2018.
George has enjoyed some great performances as part of Mersea School’s winning year 5/6 Lexden Cup team as well as helping his team to win the Essex School Games’ Year 6 trophy despite only being in year 5.
He has taken home numerous trophies, been selected for regional training and represented Essex Junior Squash in Inter-County matches.
George was the first Mersea boy to win a training bursary and he followed this up with an Off the Wall Squash player of the month award in March.
In June, George was the highest ranked Essex under 11 boy and he gives his free time to help develop the next generation of Mersea talent by helping at a local club.
Take a bow, George. You are a credit to your school, parents and coaches.
