Great to see the David Lloyd Club at Gidea Park pushing and supporting squash. Former Essex and England junior Niall Engerer is the new coach there and he is already making a huge difference to the squash experience at the club.
Training nights are a huge hit with members and numbers are growing at an encouraging rate. Niall’s experience and enthusiasm is also rubbing off on the club’s Essex League teams. Results are spiking north and their three teams are predicted to post improved finishing positions this term.
Niall is running an Essex Squash Festival over the weekend of August 5th a 6th. It is open to eight teams of five players although you can field a squad of seven to give players a rest between fixtures. Each team must include a female player and only one team per club is allowed to enter.
It costs £180 per team and the cost includes a tournament T-shirt, a minimum of five matches, an elite exhibition match between two top Essex players plus drinks vouchers.
