Two Essex B teams produced some terrific performances for the county on a road trip to Poult Wood Squash, Tonbridge Kent on Sunday.
It was a long, action-filled day with every player chalking up six matches apiece. Safe to say that every ounce of energy was left on the court.
Our Under-17s were agonisingly nudged out of first place by a whisker by home team Kent A and our U-15’s were equally robust finishing third thanks to some magnificent performances from the entire team.
The teams were made up of two boys and two girls and all eight Essex players were a credit to the county, both on and off the court.
We received a barrel load of compliments from the organisers and opposition parents, and there was warm applause from everyone when India Webb and Josh Clarke were awarded medals for finishing top points scorers in the U-17 event.
It was great to see the players bonding with new team-mates and the comeraderie was first class.
