Last Friday saw the culmination of the thrilling North Essex Primary School Squash (NEPSS) ‘Lexden Cup’ competition.

The eleven teams from eight different primary schools around the local area battled for their finishing positions leaving tournament director Paul Allen beaming:” Over the three dates, the standard of play among the children has continued to rise while the competitive nature and effort shown by all the players was terrific.”

Despite their first loss in the whole competition to Mersea in round three, the tournament favourites Tiptree Heath (pictured above) went on to secure their second ‘Lexden Cup’ title in two years.

“To see so many local school children both here at Lexden, and with Lauren Selby at The Garrison, getting involved in squash through our NEPSS program, it can only help our wonderful sport to continue to grow,” added Paul.
