SOUTHEND’S Harry Kitchens reached his sixth final of the season at the weekend after battling through to the Virgin Active Surrey Health and Racquets Club final shootout.
Harry, who pretty much trains alone with so few junior players in his part of the county, produced some solid squash throughout to make the final but went down 3-1 to Brando Sodi from Middlesex. It was frustrating result with ‘H’ dominating much of the play.
Sadly, a couple of errors whilst going for the right shots cost him dearly and got him squeezed out in 4 tight games. Another day they might have come off.
