Five English players have been seeded at the World Junior Individual Squash Championships in the Netherlands later this month.
Merseyside’s Patrick Rooney (pictured) and Kent’s Georgina Kennedy will spearhead the respective English challenges in Eindhoven from July 26 to 30 as 5/8 seeds.
Yorkshire’s James Peach is the other English seed in the junior men’s event at 9/12, while Kent’s Amelia Henley and Northumbria’s Lucy Beecroft have similar seedings in the junior women’s championship.
All the seeds have been granted byes in the first round – as has Hampshire’s Kyle Finch.
The five other English players have first-round opponents. In the junior men’s tournament Kent’s Bradley Masters takes on Colombian Juan Laguna and Surrey’s Charlie Lee meets Qatar’s Abdulwahab Al-Ishaq, while in the junior women’s event Surrey’s Kace Bartley faces American Kayley Leonard, Leicestershire’s Mari Taylor plays South African Cassey Preece and Suffolk’s Lucy Turmel encounters France’s Elise R
