Essex players reaped a healthy harvest from the Broadlands Junior Open at Fleggburgh near Great Yarmouth at the weekend with Amy Apinall and Aaron Allpress both returning with age group victories.
And the trophy haul was further boosted by Conor Adams who won the under-17 plate and Elli Barrott who finished second behind Amy in the U-13’s. Both Amy and Elli are pictured above.
Aaron’s Under-17 success underlines his progress this season which has seen a steady rise in form and ranking. He’s currently Essex’s highest ranked England Under-17 player and is expected to improve on his current standing of 45 when next month’s list in published.
Equally, Amy and Elli’s continued improvement has been noted by the county coaches who are quietly confident that their growing skill base will serve Essex teams well in the season ahead.
Ben Richardson, Kieron Collins, Clayton Hunt, Harry Kitchens and Dan West were also in action at Broadlands.
