Chelmsford’s Eleanor White (above right) put her name on the honour’s board at last weekend’s Connaught Junior Open after carrying off the girls’ under-13 trophy, just ahead of Essex team-mate Elli Barrott who finished runner up.
In a competitive division, Eleanor, who plays at Marconi and is coached by Paul Selby, maintained her improved form this season which has seen her rise to 36th in the England rankings. She edged the Connaught competition, which also saw Ella Carman finish 3rd and Ellis Miller 4th.
Essex’s Collette Whittington delivered in the girls’ under-19’s while Oliver Hacker from Somerset took the boys’ under-19’s ahead of Nick Ratnarajah and Guy Tallentire.
Hertfordshire brother Jay and Owen Ledger made it a sibling one-two in the boys’ under-15’s which proved to be a keenly contested affair. Similarly, the girls’ under-15’s produced plenty of entertaining squash with Yemaya Phillips-Smith taking top spot.
