Pete Goodings, head coach at Club Kingswood, is upping camp and moving to Canada after two successful years in Essex. Pete and his family head across the Atlantic next month and leaves with all our best wishes and thanks for being such a a dynamic figure on the county scene. Here, he writes a message to all his squash friends and colleagues.
Dear Essex Squash Players,
I wanted to express my sincere thanks to all those I have come into contact with during my time here in Essex since arriving in July 2012, before I head off to Canada at the end of June 2014. I have had the pleasure of working with many of the county’s juniors and played against/with most of the counties top seniors/masters at Squash & Racketball as well as seeing most of the clubs in the county.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time down here and I leave with some great memories, having made many great friends and know that when my family and I return for family visits, I can look forward to hooking up again with some really vibrant, dedicated and enthusiastic players, parents and volunteers.
You are the guys and gals who will take Essex to the next stage of junior development and go onto bigger and better things. 2013 was a tremendous season and we have some outstanding talent in Essex and hope that this can be built on.
I will be observing the trajectory of the current crop of juniors from afar with keen interest, as well as looking forward to the undoubted emergence of the next crop of talented young boys and girls that your Essex clubs and coaches will find. Thanks for your continued support and long may the rise of our game continue.
I will try to keep you up-to-date with everything happening in Canada as and when the time allows.
Please feel free to keep in touch with me via email on petegoodings@hotmail.com and good luck with all that you do.
Yours in all things Squash & Racketball,
Pete Goodings
