Felsted School’s U-16 squash team travelled to Wycombe Squash Club on Valentine’s Day to take part in Stage 2 of the U-16 English National Schools Squash Plate Competition.
The entire team performed brilliantly showing great determination and team spirit to win all their fixtures in a tightly-contested competition to earn a place in the Finals to be held in Nottingham on Thursday 21st March.
In the first fixture, Felsted’s players were matched against local rivals Brentwood, who they beat by 148-111. The second fixture saw the team matched against Bradfield and they again emerged victorious, this time by 151-110.
In the final fixture they were up against hosts, JHGS B, and in the closest fixture of the event triumphed by 140-131.
The team of Archie Pritchard, Ethan Selvester, Jess Baxter, Marcus Dove and Gabriel Mifsud had all been training hard for the event and their efforts paid off handsomely and they are looking forward to the upcoming Finals Day.
